We want children to become people who can contribute to society through experiences that they can only have here: The case of Fukuyama Lumbini School

2023.12.18

On December 7, 2023, we delivered MY FOOTBALL KIT to the Fukuyama Lumbini School in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
The MY FOOTBALL KITs delivered to the children at "Fukuyama Lumbini School" were made possible through a portion of the individual support sales made at the MY FOOTBALL KIT booth at the final site of the Emperor's Cup JFA 102nd All Japan Soccer Championships last year.

Due to the time limit for handing out the MY FOOTBALL KIT, we were not able to give it directly to the children, but we were able to talk with Director Kadota, who treats the children as if they were family.

The following is a comment from Mr. Kadota, Director of the facility

Fukuyama Lumbini School is a place only because of its location (*400m above sea level), and we hope that people will be able to contribute to society through experiences that can only be had here.

The other day, there was a child who was going to work part-time at a place down the mountain.
He said, "I'm going to commute by bicycle." I said, "The way down the mountain is good, but the way up the mountain is hard, so would you like a staff member to pick you up and take you home by car? But he refused to listen, saying, "I want to go by bicycle. He would not listen to me.
As a result, he had to commute by bicycle for about one and a half hours each way. After three days of this, he asked me to pick him up and drop him off by car.

I believe that children experience things like this on a daily basis that they would not understand unless they actually experience them.

We respect the children's wishes, let them have the experience, and let them think for themselves how it was. I believe that children are growing through experiences that are truly unique to this place.

And during the winter season, making baked potatoes seems to be carried out on a daily basis. Director Kadota told us that there is nothing better than when everyone picks up fallen leaves and eats their favorite baked potatoes together.

MY FOOTBALL KITs that we have given this time could be used to implement a hands-on project in which some children love to assemble things, so let's ask them to play the role of instructors and appoint them to support the children around them.

It was a wonderful experience that delivered an opportunity for children to grow.
Thank you again to everyone who supported us.
