We held a summer vacation science project event at Nagasaki Stadium City!

2025.09.04

We recently held the event ‘Summer Vacation Research: Achieving the SDGs through Soccer’ at Nagasaki Stadium City! In this workshop, participants deepened their understanding of soccer balls and learned how soccer can contribute to the SDGs. We also organized a ‘Kid Reporter Stadium Tour,’ where children took on the role of reporters and explored the stadium.

In the first half of the event, the Kid Reporter Stadium Tour was held, where children explored areas that are normally off-limits and learned about the reasons why those spaces were created.

In the second half of the event, participants learned about how soccer balls are made and maintained, as well as the ways in which soccer can contribute to the SDGs.

We received a comment from Ms. Mirei Fujita, Planning Group, Planning & Promotion Section, Planning & PR Department, Regional Creation Nagasaki Stadium City Inc.

“Since it was during the summer vacation period, many children participated in the workshop, and I was very impressed by how attentively they listened to the sessions.
Despite being held on a weekday, we also saw many parents in attendance, and I felt that it became a wonderful event that both children and adults could enjoy together.
Some parents were even nodding and taking photos of the presentation materials during the lecture, which made me feel that the program truly offered meaningful learning opportunities.
At Nagasaki Stadium City, we have had relatively few opportunities to organize workshops or lectures specifically for children, so this was our first attempt. We would very much like to continue these efforts and develop them into future sessions.”

We believe that the participating children gained valuable learning experiences through activities they would not normally have the chance to try.

Furthermore, a portion of the participation fees from this event will be used, together with Nagasaki Stadium City, to deliver MY FOOTBALL KITs to children in Nagasaki Prefecture who have fewer opportunities for such experiences.

We would like to once again extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part.
